Time Machine

Workshop type:artistic

Workshop Description:
Surrealistic urban sketching. We were inspirated by community of urban sketchers and the impressionists. Both groups makes their sketches  plein air”. Why not do the sarne but with some upgrade? We would like to have urban sketching workshop where participants will sketch different parts of city. But we don’t wantjust urban sketching but we want to insert some new elements in our sketches. What does it mean? We know that Rhodes is full of Iandmarks, ruins and rich history, why not continue to design things which are already missing? But in futuristic design, street art. How would look the Rhode statue in present? How in futur? How in our dreams? We can use our creativity to make the new point of view: the crazy one.

Connection with Theme landmARCH:
We want to connect ourworksnop with history of island, with the interesting places and snow them in real and in our imagination.

                                        Pallet_Expansive Space

Workshop type:constructive

Workshop Description:
Expansive Construction - Multiple functions of space (siting, walking, playing...) united and added  when needed, into a single concept. A structure which is "unfolding" into different qualities.
Temporary - An idea for constructing for changing needs. The materials are disposable, lightweight, easy to handle and capable for future variations.
MultiDesign - The project's concept is based on the flexibility of combining different participant ideas (many individual configurations) into a single "expansive" pallet structure.

Connection with Theme landmARCH:
Is a multifunctional structure and meeting point. This suggests it's connection with the meaning of a contemporary landmark. Also, blank surfaces are placed in different parts of the structure providing a graffiti board, which explores the possibility of graffiti and street arts to be considered as landmarks.

                                                   Bodybuilding

This will form a basis for creating and establishing a new relationship between body and building. The exploration will appear in the form of - spatial installations, flashmobs, photomontages and videos.

Connection with Theme landmARCH:
Rhodes’ Collosus is a direct example of a human body and architecture. The being dominant landmark was the function of this body-building. The workshop will question how the human bodies shape the space today, how the builidngs adopt the human bodies, how inhabitants can become landmarks of the city, if the building is the extension of body and vice versa.
